About The Club
The Heart of Dixie Balloon Club was founded to bring together crews of Alabama balloonist back in the 1980's, but since then it has grown into an organization covering the state of Alabama, portions of Tennessee, and Georgia. The membership of the club is comprised of crew members and pilots of local balloons and of concerned citizens who are interested in the sport of hot-air ballooning. Membership is open, so people from all walks of life can join and become a part of the ballooning experience.

Membership
Membership is open to all people who are interested in the sport of hot-air ballooning. Pilot, Crew, or just interested individuals are welcome to come and join the club.
Events & Activities
Each year the club hosts several events not only to further ballooning but also to socialize with other people interested in the sport of ballooning. A listing of our events can be found under the Events Section, along with an event calendar, articles and reports about recent events, and pictures of said events.
Officers
Each year, from the general membership, officers are elected to run the club and oversee meeting and events. There are no requirements for becoming and officer, other than being willing (ok...well sometime being willing) and being a member of the club. Becoming and officer is not limited to just pilots or crew, but all members.
Meetings
The Heart of Dixie Balloon Club tires to hold quarterly meetings. Each meeting is held, usually in conjunction with dinner, at a local restaurant. Meetings don't last long, but are a chance for pilots and crews to get together and socialize and maybe (if were lucky) conduct a little business. Sometimes we have special speakers and a formal program, others we just set up the next group fun flight.
